Eric Berson

Eric Berson is the Chairman and CEO of Washington Realty Group, Inc., headquartered in Washington, DC with west coast offices in Los Altos, CA. Eric is an attorney having graduated from Stanford Law School in 1975, where he was both an Editor on the Stanford Law Review and President of the Stanford Law School student body. Eric has also served on the Stanford Law School Board of Visitors, and has been nominated to serve on the Stanford University Board of Trustees. Eric is admitted to and in good standing with the Bar in New York and Washington, DC. Following Stanford Law School, Eric actively practiced law in New York with a heavy emphasis on development, land use and zoning issues. After moving to Washington, D.C. in 1979, Eric became a real estate developer of commercial and mixed-use properties, especially office buildings, and concentrated in land use matters and development/construction/financing/leasing related issues. Today, his real estate activities are focused solely on national and international law firm tenant advocacy and lease representation for major national and international law firms.

Some of his clients include Akin Gump, Baker & McKenzie, Sutherland, Asbill & Brennan, Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, and Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice, PLLC. Eric has lectured on real estate and business ethics at both the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania and the Haas Graduate School of Business at the University of California Berkeley. In addition, Eric has been a repeat lecturer at the National Law Firm Chairpersons Leadership Roundtable hosted by the Zeughauser Group. Most recently, at the invitation of the Arizona State Bar, Eric has lectured practicing attorneys on the latest approaches to protecting law firms when negotiating their office leases. Eric received his Honorable Discharge from the United States Coast Guard in 1973 and has been married to his wife Elaine for 35 years with whom he has two daughters, one of whom is General Counsel to Washington Realty Group, Inc. Eric enjoys collecting art and antiques, with particular emphasis on 18th and 19th century French works. Finally, Eric has been involved in charitable endeavors in low income neighborhoods in the Bay Area some of which has overlapped with his service on the San Francisco Forty Niners advisory council.
